The knowledgeable staff at Bradford Optical is experienced in working with numerous insurance providers. We do our best to confirm all patient benefits prior to the appointment if you provide us with your insurance information before you arrive. We strive to ensure that you understand your insurance coverage and will answer any questions you may have regarding your benefits. Many current vision plans (such as EyeMed and VSP) are designed to cover only basic, routine exams. If a patient has any symptoms of possible medical eye issues (dry eyes, allergies, floaters, etc.) or is being followed for a pre-existing condition (diabetes, cataracts, high risk medications, etc.) then the exam must be billed to your medical insurance carrier (BC/BS, Cigna, MVP, etc.)
Due to unreasonable contractual requirements we are no longer in-network VSP providers. However, we make it easy for patients to self-submit an out-of-network claim with VSP by providing all necessary documentation. You can check these benefits yourself by going to vsp.com>benefits & claims>coverage of out-of-network providers. If you are being followed for any medical conditions as noted above, we can still submit directly to your major medical insurance provider.
